"And also, it’s about time.” @washintopnpost 🙏🏾 Diwali / Tihar, a Festival of Lights, is a symbolic celebration of the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance, amongst many other things. It also happens to be one of my favourite holidays since I was a kid. We dress up, light Diya 🪔, eat sweets, dance, sing and bask in the beautiful energy of love that permeates the air. When I moved to New York 20 years ago, I missed it terribly. There were no celebrations, nor anyone paid any heed here. But cut to 2022, now we are celebrating and gloriously. I was grateful that I could host this Diwali Party with my friends and share the joy, food, culture, music, dancing and fashion !!! It was an epic night. Beautiful. Glorious. Magical.
