Your ovaries, adrenals, and thyroid all walk into a bar... ... if you were a fly on the wall of their conversation, would you know what they’re saying? “Yeah, my periods are freaking AWFUL right now,” says the ovaries. “I feel you girl. I’m tired but wired every night, and then I wake up with no energy even though I’m sleeping,” bemoan the adrenals. “Yup, tough times over here, too. There’s just a lot going on... I’ve had to slow down digestion, our skin is drying out, and I’ve had to slam the breaks hard on everything just to get by.” Here’s the thing... these are coworkers. YOUR coworkers. And if you want harmony in the workplace (aka your body), it would behoove you to speak the language they’re speaking. Insert: BIOFEEDBACK. Biofeedback is the language of the body. It’s all the signs, symptoms, and physical sensations that your body uses in place of words to communicate with you. If you “heard” the above conversation, would you interpret it as: A) “oh, that’s ‘normal’ because someone on social media said it’s normal to feel like 💩 all the time, constantly be bloated after eating, constantly be tired, etc,” “oh, it’s just a part of aging,” “oh, it’s just....” OR B) “my body is clearly talking to me, and I’m going to engage in conversation and listen.” Just like communication is key in any interpersonal relationship, communication between the body and the Self is key to your wellness, your fitness, and your long-term health. Whether it’s knowing when your body is or isn’t ready for fat loss, OR detecting subtle signs of disease before it grows into something bigger/more serious.
