Christmas morning in Venice.. The only way I can get through missing this trip this much is by thinking about where I was “this time last year”. Christmas morning was cappuccino e cornetto, and exploring Venice on foot. A couple of panic attacks along the way, cause as much as I love travel, it really does a number on me. First stop was St. Marks Campanile! We went up as the bells were tolling and got to see Venice from above- some of my favorite photos from the trip came from this experience! And then, off to Libreria Acqua Alta, the most beautiful bookshop in the world. If you haven’t been, you must. A haven for lovers of tiny spaces filled with books & works of art! And a lovely place to collect some postcards to send as thank yous to everyone who bought art and made my trip possible! Then it was time to experience Venice the Venetian way.. by gondola! I’d recommend (because it’s iconic) and I’d also would not recommend (because that little boat ROCKS). We had the option to choose to see the little canals or travel up the Grand Canal, once our gondola hit the more open waters, I begged the gondolier to turn around 😂 Christmas night was a dream- spent seeing Burano & sipping mulled wine, Christmas lights and boat rides at sunset.
