Introducing "Heroes of Gage & Tollner," our new community program designed to thank the individuals working hard to make the world a better place through nonprofit initiatives. Each month, our staff nominates and votes on one charitable leader to recognize, who we then honor with a complimentary gift certificate to dine with us (and a guest!) at Gage & Tollner. 🌟 We're thrilled to announce our inaugural Hero of Gage & Tollner for July 2022: Joshua Tweedy! Josh (he/they) is the Health & Wellness Program Coordinator at the Edie Windsor SAGE Center (@sageusa). SAGE Centers help older LGBTQ+ people live healthier and happier lives through virtual and in-person programming. Just recently, Josh has coordinated outings to Governors Island, trips to Union Square Greenmarket to buy fresh vegetables, bingo and movie nights, and helped provide both on-site and to go meals for SAGE clients. Josh’s social justice work spans four decades with a specialized focus on LGBTQ+ equity through an anti-racist lens. We're so grateful for his dedication to making the world a safer and more just place for the LGBTQ+ community, and look forward to welcoming them into Gage & Tollner to enjoy a meal on us, to properly thank him as best we know how: through delicious food and drink!
