3 things I’d tell all new grad PTs:
1️⃣ Burnout is real.
The work outside the clinic can hit hard early on. Over time, you’ll get faster, more efficient, and find a way to keep learning that fits your routine instead of draining you.
(Passive learning with podcasts has helped me a ton. My current rotation: 1. E3 Rehab 2. Jacked Athlete Podcast 3. Forward Physio 4. High Performance Physiology 5. Hypertrophy Past and Present)
2️⃣ Finish your notes before you leave.
We all hate notes, but pushing them off makes burnout worse. If you can, knock them out in the clinic and leave with a clear head.
3️⃣ PT is hard.
You’ll feel like an imposter. You’ll feel like you suck. Some patients won’t improve. That’s just how it is 🤷🏻♂️.
Keep showing up and keep growing. That’s what really matters.
