Bikepacking in Baja California Sur with a group of friends for the next week. It’s my first time back in 5 years and it feels good to be living on the bikes. I first toured in Baja in 2010 on a bike trip that started in Seattle, Washington. Narrow tires kept me on the main paved highway. I came back in 2015 with a better bike and spent 6 months over the next 2 years obsessively working on the Baja Divide route project— 1700 miles of rugged dirt from San Diego to San Jose del Cabo. I rode the route 4 times and got pretty burnt out. It’s been nice to have some time away and it’s great to be back making new memories.
