LYKKE LI, CRASH 97, The Situationist Issue.
After a three year hiatus, Lykke Li released EYEYE, her much anticipated fifth album, in May. Reuniting with her longtime collaborator, Swedish producer Björn Yttling, it was a return to the low-fi bedroom pop the Swedish singer was known for early on. Produced at home in her bedroom in Los Angeles, the immersive audiovisual album is her most intimate project to date. She spoke with Crash about the album and her palindromic confrontation with the themes of love, addiction, obsession, and relapse that have dominated her career thus far.
