12th South African International Ballet Competition, Cape Town, South Africa 🇿🇦❤️ Last week, I had the incredible honor of traveling to South Africa to compete in the 12th SAIBC in beautiful Cape Town. Thank you @baddirk, the City of Cape Town, & @saiballetcomp for creating such an inspiring, beautifully organized event & for the warm hospitality! I’m beyond grateful & honored to have been awarded the 🥉Bronze Medal in the Junior Age Division & to have performed in front of such an esteemed panel of judges from all over the world. Representing the 🇺🇸 USA on this stage was such a special & memorable experience. It was such a joy to perform at the stunning Artscape Theatre with my Lilac Fairy Variation & my contemporary piece “Acceptance”by @danrubin06 in the first two rounds, & then my new Paquita Variation in the final round & at the Awards Gala. A huge thank you to Ms. Larissa & @yagp for providing me with this incredible experience & for always supporting & guiding me! I’m forever grateful for everything you do for us dancers & for the opportunities you create to help us grow, connect, & dream big! To Mr. Dirk Badenhorst, thank you for the special invitation & warmest welcome! 🙏🥰 To the most amazing teacher & mentor, Ms. Marina, thank you so much for being with me every step of the way, for pushing me, guiding me, & believing in me always. I’m so thankful for everything you do for me. I love you more than words can describe & feel truly blessed to be your student. This trip will always hold a special place in my heart. ❤️ One of my favorite parts of this trip was getting to meet & bond with so many amazing dancers from all over the world. I’m inspired by everyone I met & truly thankful for the memories, friendships, & shared love for this art form. Your kindness, generosity, & joy for dance touched my heart, & I hope to see you all again soon. This week reminded me once again how powerful dance is in bringing people together across borders, cultures, & languages. Thank you, South Africa!!
