Living in California, you see Prop 65 warnings just about everywhere, from parking garages to consumer goods. They’re designed to alert Californians to potential exposure to over 900 chemicals that could negatively impact one’s health, but I never expected to discover that this one obscure law (which was enacted way back in 1986) would be a cause of mounting financial burden for beauty brands all across the country. To wit: If a California resident can buy a brand's goods online (even if the brand is based somewhere else) the brand must be compliant, but the craziest part?
