The Goddess Erzulie has two personas - Erzulie Freda & Erzulie Dantor. Erzulie Dantor (pictured) is the Voudon Goddess of jealousy and vengeance. Voudou has three sets of deities or lwas—Rada, Ghede, and Petro—each with their own associations. Erzulie Dantor is the metro aspect of the Goddess Erzulie, and she is the patron law of women who have been mistreated. She is fiercely protective of her devotees. In her arms she holds her daughter Anais, who relays messages to and from Erzulie Dantor. While she is a strict mother, she will go to any lengths to protect her children and seek vengeance on those who have wronged them. She is often depicted as the black madonna.
