Here’s a little BTS from the Summer 22 cover shoot for @blackbride1998 ... and a glimpse of the part we play as stylist to our Brides. Although this wasn’t Sloane’s actual wedding day, it was definitely reminiscent of the experience I enjoy having with our clients. As wardrobe stylist I believe I have the privilege of working the closest with the Bride on her wedding day and it’s a job I don’t take lightly. Here’s why. I began offering “day of” styling services to my clients in addition to planning their wedding looks once I realized how important it was for the bride to have at least one person who’s only concern was helping her through the wedding day. Most of the other vendors are focused on making sure the wedding goes as planned. The Bridal party is off getting glammed and enjoying the event. But I found the Bride needs a wing man by her side, from the crack of dawn at beauty prep all the way to when she does her farewell exit at the end of the night, to make sure looks good and feels even better. As much as a wedding is an exciting day, it can also be an overwhelming with lots of moving parts. Just the reality of this being the “moment” can add an additional layer of nervousness for Brides, even if they don’t express it. Which is why I take pride in being a silent support. So aside from steaming dresses, carrying trains and adjusting crowns I also fetch water, keep on track of timelines, wipe happy tears,...whatever I can do to help you feel at ease during your time.
