Day 8 of my Thanksgiving Series... Creamed Corn 🌽🤍 I had never had creamed corn until earlier this year, and now I’m sad that I haven’t been eating it my whole life!! It’s SO good! And very easy. Ingredients: •half stick of butter (4 tbsp) •3 tbsp flour •1 1/3 cup heavy cream •1 1/3 cup whole milk •half block of cream cheese (4 oz) •4 cans of corn (drained) •3/4 tsp garlic powder •3/4 tsp onion powder •1/2 tsp salt •1 tsp pepper •2.5 tbsp sugar Start by melting the butter in a large pan over low/medium low heat. Once the butter is fully melted, add in the flour. Whisk that together and it should start to slightly bubble. Whisk every few seconds for about 1 minute, then add the heavy cream. Whisk. There may be some clumps, that’s ok. Add in the whole milk and whisk again. Let that come to a simmer, stirring every 30ish seconds. You just don’t want the bottom to burn. Once it starts to slowly simmer, add in the cream cheese and stir. Once that melts, add in your corn, sugar, and seasonings. Mix. It will be pretty thick at this point. Cover and let simmer (I put my heat just a little bit above low) for 15 minutes. Stir once or twice during that time. If it’s too thick for your liking, add some milk. If it’s too thin for your liking, let it simmer with the lid off for five minutes. #easyrecipes #cookwithme #foodie #creamedcorn #southerncooking #explorepage #dinnerideas #thanksgiving #dinnerideas #christmas #thanksgivingfood #sidedish
