Kanye West's vision for his Gap collab is... unique.
Shoppers are tweeting pictures of West's clothes being displayed in large bags at several stores. 'The sales associate said Ye got mad when he saw they had it on hangers and this is how he wanted it,' Twitter user @owen__lang posted on August 15. Per Dezeen, some customers have been forced to 'dumpster dive' to find their size.
West, however, defended his creative vision in an exclusive interview with Fox News on August 18. He noted that the clothes are in black construction bags, not garbage bags.
'I'm an innovator, and I'm not here to sit up and apologize about my ideas,' West said. 'That's exactly what the media tries to do. Make us apologize for any idea that doesn't fall under exactly the way they want us to think.'
'The whole point of why I came to The Gap was to make egalitarian clothing,' the rapper continued. 'I remember times being in the [Dominican Republic], going to a store and seeing clothes in bins and just seeing people be happy to have a moment of discovery, to think like children ... This is, like, not a joke. This is not a game. This is not just some celebrity collaboration. This is my life.'
