Last Wednesday was my 1st day back in the office after TWO years of working remote. For me, the highlight was being invited to present the latest @dove campaign I had the pleasure of leading - work that is deeply personal - during our North America Townhall.
Well over a decade ago, I remembered when Dove launched the iconic “Real Beauty” campaign. It was built around the insight that only 2% of women consider themselves beautiful. At that moment, I decided I wanted to work for a brand like Dove that stood for real beauty and inclusivity for all.
My hope is that the #AsEarlyAsFive campaign resonates with others, especially Black women & girls, just the way the "Real Beauty" campaign did for me 10+ years ago. Whether it was reviewing director treatments, putting friends on as campaign influencers (heyyy @buymechanel & @giapeppers) or finalizing the launch plans, it was an honor to have had a seat (and a voice) at the table to bring this to life.
My favorite part of this spot was the father reminding his daughter to love her hair - not only did I see my late father in this moment, but the positive representation of a black father, was a small but critical detail for me.
