Hidden gem of the week: @alamedanightmarket 🌮 One of the most centrally located L.A. night markets, this weekend-only Fashion District event is one of the cheapest ways to enjoy a weekend dinner Downtown. Though you'll encounter the usual assortment of tacos, tortas, birria, raspados and aguas frescas, Alameda Night Market also regularly hosts vendors hawking Hot Cheetos-dusted sushi, Korean barbecue-style rice bowls and Thai rolled ice cream. For just $64, we purchased a plate of taquitos, five Tijuana-style tacos, a bag of Tostilocos, a bowl of birria ramen and seven tacos de canasta—delicate, softer Guadalajara-style half-moons eaten with a fork and plenty of salsa and coleslaw. Considering that barely covers dinner for one at Caldo Verde at the Proper Hotel on the next street over, we consider that a steal. Tip: Bring some sanitizing wipes, since the night market charges for use of the mobile handwash station. 📹 @richardtranley #timeoutla #lagram #la #dtla
