One of my favorite chefs from the two-Michelin-starred restaurant @jungsik_nyc Jungsik @chefjungsik in NYC has just opened a new Southeast Asian restaurant in Midtown and I had to check it out!! Lucky to secure a table for dinner on Resy and it was so amazing! The food features a blend of Korean and Southeast Asian flavors, including influences from Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. . While the crudo was good, the real stars were the two entrees and the noodles we tried. The noodles were reminiscent of Korean jjajangmyeon but with a surprising tom yum twist, featuring vibrant lemongrass and galangal/ginger flavors. They were perfectly bouncy and full of flavor. The short ribs and pork were both exceptional, with the pork having a wonderfully crispy exterior. .
