Today's Sunday Short is La Bruja from ShortFest 2019. This short is written by, directed by, and starring Eliza Jiménez Cossio. La Bruja is a bilingual dark comedy about a woman who goes through a break up then meets a witch who offers to help. Eliza is a mexicana writer, actress, and comedian from California. She currently writes for Taika Waititi’s pirate comedy Our Flag Means Death (HBO Max), previously on One Day at a Time (CBS/Netflix) and Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas (HBO). After graduating from UC Berkeley, she moved to New York to intern at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where she worked her way up to digital writer and the on-air Senior Latina Correspondent.
