IS OUT NOW on all platforms! ⚡️The absolute final bonus track from ‘3’ 😭 and an F U 👊🏾 to everything that’s turned our lives upside down and the journey it takes to not let it dictate our lives. ⚡️I wrote this with the wonderful Jack Grace and recorded my vocals in my closet in my very hot and sweaty Chippendale apartment. A few years later I got my friend Mike Duschene to come over to my new house and had him slam it with some gang vocals at the end. This is for me, a song about my biological father who left me and my siblings when we were kids. The cover is a picture he took of us and our dog Ricky after a swim at Queen Emma’s beach in Kokopo, PNG. (The artwork is that which appears on the back of the ‘3’ vinyl) In the distance is the smoking Mt Tavurvur 🌋 and we’re probably eating peanut butter sandwiches after having the best time launching ourselves off his shoulders all afternoon into those sulphuric waters. I will always hold on to the fact that in our time together he was a good dad but to this day we don’t understand why he left and stopped calling for over 20 yrs. As much as it’s telling someone to F OFF, this is more about the importance of forgiving people who have wronged us to ensure we are able to live our lives free of the disease of anger, rage, trauma, and disconnect.
