Tonight we spent a lot of time talking because we asked 3 questions. Do you have someone in your life who: 1. Supports you? 2. Holds you accountable? 3. Drives you to deepen your faith in Christ? The books of the Bible Paul wrote weren’t just chapters written down that he recorded for posterity sake. They were letters written to people he knew and people he was directly interacting with in the way we would send a text or make a phone call. We see the relationship and mentorship unfolding right before our eyes. In Galatians 6:2 Paul writes for us to “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Think about the implications of that verse. Developing a relationship so strong that you support each other and carry each other and inspire each other is fulfilling the law of Christ. The law of love, and sacrifice, and selflessness. If we truly desire to be more like Christ and genuinely deepen our faith then we need to recognize (or find) those people that support us, hold us accountable, and drive us to deepen our relationship with Christ. Because in finding those people we will realize that relationship creates reciprocity. When your burdens are carried you will begin carrying burdens without ever realizing it. “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live in unity.” Psalm 133:1
