Rue & I wrapped up our bikepacking trip in Baja California Sur 🇲🇽 yesterday. It’s easy to get in a rhythm out there— ride, resupply, swim and camp. The riding is hard, but very rewarding. Camping on the beach and seeing both the sun & moon rise over the water is the best part. The weather is so good there’s no reason to ever go inside. It’s an incredible feeling of freedom. So proud of Rue’s riding— she’s fit as a fiddle 🥰 We have a quick stop home in Tucson tonight to switch bikes & equipment and we’re flying to the Canary Islands tomorrow for the @komoot Women’s @granguanche.route Rally. We’ll be spending a week riding the 700km gravel route with a group of 50 women from around the world. Neither Rue nor I have ever visited the Canary Islands, off the northwest coast of Africa. The route connects 6 of the islands by ferry. At the tail end of the rally, I’ll be heading back to the start for the Granguanche Road Audax— a challenge to ride a road version of the route in 2 days. Super excited for lots of riding in new places with new people!
