“The goal is accomplished! 7 years in the making, I completed hiking the NH48 in New Hampshire on Mount Adams!” We first met @ha_p_trails in 2017, she had just started her goal of hiking all of New Hampshire’s 4,000 footers. Small and mighty, coming in at just 4’10” she was also out after hiking all these peaks 3 1/2 months post heart surgery. “I am sort of an unlikely hiker. I was diagnosed at birth with a congenital heart condition, Aortic Stenosis (narrowing of the aortic valve) that requires regular checkups. I started climbing mountains to prove to myself that I was stronger than what I appear or what my heart condition would dictate.” We got to meet her on a group hike soon after that, she became a part of some pretty amazing moments and core friendships here at @womenwhohike. On June 30th 2022, she finally met her goal completing the NH48... “this was such an amazing and transformative process for me. Living 3.5 hours away from the White Mountains of New Hampshire was not an easy feat to put a timeframe on. Plus, life happens... and that’s okay! I just kept getting back on the trail whenever I could! If you’re thinking of setting this goal or one like it, I would say just get out there and have some fun! Meet some incredible people, make amazing memories, and eventually it will all add up... 48 mountains hiked!” 📍the White Mountains in New Hampshire are the ancestral lands of the Wabanaki and N’dakina peoples.
