Another satisfying DIY!
I really debated with myself whether I actually wanted to do this as I get it, why spend hours removing paint when you’re just going to paint over it again, right? WRONG. Well, at least that’s the decision I came too...
It was realllly bugging me that layers and layers of gloopy oil paint was on these skirtings, and because we’re putting in so much effort to restore this space back to its former glory, why not go the extra half mile? The paint finish when we redecorate will be incomparable, not to mention we want to use a water based eggshell which doesn’t sit well / adhere on top of oil based paint - so it had to go 😂
Anyway, thought I’d share how I’ve been doing this because I legit didn’t know this was a good way of removing paint until a couple of weeks ago. In our old house we spent HOURS sanding the skirting to try and remove the old paint, this is so much easier!
