Each year, the CHOC Oncology Patient Ball presented by The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation offers young adults a night to let loose, have fun and not worry about tomorrow. For former patient Vincent, the ball serves as a time to celebrate the life-saving connections and friendships he found at CHOC.
The Richard C. and Virginia A. Hunsaker Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Child Life Program at the Hyundai Cancer Institute at CHOC saved Vincent’s life — in more ways than one. He was diagnosed over seven years ago with two golf ball-sized tumors in the middle of his brain. He endured six months of treatment and was, thankfully, declared cancer-free. However, the year following his treatment was one of the toughest times in his life. That's when he found the AYA program.
