I was so excited to get to Rome.. like I said before, every time I ever got a history textbook in school, I’d always flip to find the chapters on Rome. I was just so fascinated, always.. and I always felt like I never would make it there, because my anxiety doesn’t let me travel that far. Big emotions when I got there. For the kid who always wanted to go, the artist who sold enough art to get there.. the young woman trying her best to ignore the panic and anxiety and focus on all the wonder that is a dream coming true. First stop, the Pantheon. I definitely recommend booking tickets in advance, any time you see “skip the line” do it!!! We walked right in. The audio tour was so funny, full of information and history.. I loved every second of it! And then afterwards some gelato, a beautiful evening in Rome. Then we walked to the Vatican, and stopped along the way for some dinner. With every glass of wine, I tried to remember all the people who bought a piece of art and sent well wishes.. every glass was a congratulations.. for working hard and making it happen, in terms of funding the trip but also being able to meet the moment, you know? Having anxiety, it’s always easy to give in, say no.. and let life pass you by because you’re scared. I didn’t want to miss out anymore. Something I say to myself a lot is “there are people who do things like this, you can do it too”, like when it comes to taking an overnight flight to London, then boarding again an hour later to get to Venice, solo. Or taking a train from Venice, to Rome, a BUS from ROME to POSITANO AND BACK!! There are people who do this, you don’t have to do it.. but you want to be the kind of person that does. One of the best parts of the trip was collecting postcards in every city, from different souvenir stands, thinking about each person I’d be mailing them to. It was such an incredible way to see a physical manifestation of the dream. Every postcard was a person who believed in me & my art.. and that still makes me teary eyed a whole year later. Off to bed, excited to see the colosseum in the morning! ✨ come back for part 6! #travellovers #italytravel #romeitaly #travelartist #travelart #travelinspired #wanderlusttravel #pantheonrome #piazzanavona
