The morning train is headed East. The sound reaches me as both a comfort and nuisance, a reminder of time’s inevitable progression. Like the long hand of a clock ticking in a silent room, or specks of dust suspended in a stream of window light, my work is reflective of the quiet moments that kindle our imagination and give shape to our memory. I’m moved by the emotions of weather, the rapturous change of seasons, and the fiction-like romance of everyday life. With landscape as protagonist, and community as subject, my work is a lyrical narrative about the communion between myself and the world – the sacred and simple interactions of nature and our place within it. – Wisconsin, 2022
