It's hard to imagine getting the opportunity to be a part of a group of changemakers and role models in sport, science, communication, and environmental activism! Joining @protectourwinters last year really opened up opportunities for me to get activated in the running and outdoor community about climate change and solutions we already have to ensure a brighter future for all of us. This group has really empowered me to speak up and celebrate my athletic and scientific accomplishments as well as be a representative of the BIPOC community and fight for true equity and justice. I'm still processing all of the conversations and still can't quite describe the shear giddiness and love I feel for this group! There were definitely tough conversations to be had on all fronts and that's always the first step of getting anywhere authentic in our actions. We're all imperfect advocates and that's part of what makes us human! I'd rather fight for a brighter future and have hope for what our planet could be- a safe and healing place for all. We have the potential to come together as humans and look out for each other, so why not take the leap and try?
