What do we do about our new hires who missed the ABAR training with you?
My school clients have three options to support new hires.
1. Provide them with an on-demand webinar and someone to debrief the material with. This on-demand webinar can be reused by all new-hires during the on-boarding process.
2. If the majority of your staff is new, host another training. Don’t be afraid to start over. Repetition can be a good thing especially when tackling new concepts.
3. Tap your experts. Check with your current staff to identify educators who would like to be a mentor teacher. The mentor teacher can set up additional times with me to review content and receive feedback from me. But please make sure you’re compensating them for their value.
But beyond these three options, it’s so important for schools to have a shared mission and vision, along with a strategic plan. This way all faculty and staff are aware of the expectations, shared language, and goals they need to be accomplishing. Without this plan, ABAR work will not sustain itself.
