We took the plunge and reviewed Casamigos. Famously started by George Clooney and Randy Gerber, this popular brand is now part of a giant spirits conglomerate, and the recipe reflects it. Very vanilla, including on the nose (which is odd for a blanco). Has a lot of lemon to it, and then a medicinal component that really gets in the way. Overall, not a fan. Lots better options out there (and at less cost), and it bums me out that this is the default tequila for literally millions of people. It’ll do in a cocktail, if you must.
