A few frames from our new @zerooptik rehoused vintage Leica M primes. Just some stills from a day at the beach.
To us, the best vintage lenses are the ones that offer beautiful, unique character but still deliver plenty of performance. Despite the fact that these lenses are roughly 60+ years old, they are sharp wide-open, truly as sharp as you need a lens to be, and they have zero chromatic aberration, even wide open. They have absolutely beautiful flares that compliment your shots, without distracting, and bokeh that gives backgrounds beautiful texture, almost like a panting. Since vintage lenses deliver the most character when shot wide open, we needed lenses that were able to perform, and at a f stop that is practical for most shooting situations. That’s why we wanted to rehouse these vintage Summicrons. You can shoot them wide open, be thrilled with the results, and not sacrifice performance.
As you can see the lenses handle high contrast situations easily, close focus is excellent, and the lenses render fine detail beautifully. You can see why Leica earned their reputation of making the finest optics available.
These lenses make images that look beautiful and timeless without ever being distracting. More images and more focal lengths coming soon...
First pair of stills, and final frame - Leica M 50mm T2.1
