It always makes me laugh inside when someone says that not hitting or yelling at your kids is the easy way out 😮‍💨 like ummmmm excuse have your tried regulating your emotions when EVERYTHING in your body and mind is telling you to lose it? 😤🤬 To show empathy, love and connection to your kid in a moment you feel completely justified to punish them? It’s takes INCREDIBLE inner strength 💪♥️ And we do it because we know that our children are children. They were not born with the ability regulate their emotions, it’s a skill that needs to be taught and practised. We know that our children’s behaviour are driven by their unmet needs, not because they are bad kids. We know that our kids need to be allowed to feel their feelings and taught how to feel them and express them in a healthy way so they don’t become disconnected adults with no effective coping mechanisms.
