“Icelandic turf houses are a traditional way of building in houses that has been used since the early settlement. They consist mostly of stones, wood, turf and soil.
As most of you know, Iceland doesn't exactly have an abundance of trees 🌳 and they were built due to the lack of wood. It also happens that they are super photogenic.🖼️
A few houses remain around Iceland, either old or replicates/new. This particular one is called Lindarbakki and is located in East Iceland in the town of Borgarfjörður Eystri. Until recent years, it was privately owned and lived in during summers.” ☀️ 🗝️
