Meet Jo (@presentedbyjo), a disabled, neurodivergent creative whose artistic work explores the intersection of chronic illness, neurodivergence and fashion. Living with autism, ADHD and complex chronic illnesses, Jo uses their social media pages for awareness and advocacy, as well as exploring these parts of their identity in their artistic practices. “As well as being Autistic, I navigate life with endometriosis, myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. This cocktail of chronic illnesses means I am left with intense pelvic and abdominal pain, extreme chronic fatigue, orthostatic intolerance and severe dizziness,” Jo says. They have worked with brands like Cool Crutches (@coolcrutches), By Acre (@byacre) and Visible (@visible.health) to normalise and reduce stigma in the use of mobility aids in young disabled people. 📸: Photos 2, 4 & 6 by @georgiaormephotography_ 🔗 Discover more CREATIVE VOICES like Jo at the link in bio.
