💡The Powder Tower is a gate that separates Prague’s New Town from the Old Town. Its construction began in 1475 and it represents the Late Gothic style. Today’s name Powder Gate Tower (originally a New Tower) has been used since the beginning of the 18th century, when the tower was used as a gun-powder storage place. The look of the tower was inspired by the work of Petr Parléř on the Charles Bridge. The Powder Tower is 65 m high, the observation gallery is 44 metres above ground and it takes 186 pretty steep stairs to get to the top.
