Today marks the first day that I got on the CTA since March 2020 and I know that’s a privilege for sure. As some of y’all know I used to deal with severe claustrophobia and avoided trains + buses back in NY/DC. So it’s weird to have had an internal avoidance in the past and now an external avoidance that feels collective to some extent. But it feels amazing that even though I was anxious about the commute today that it was nothing like in the past. I wouldn’t wish that kinda panic on a damn soul. The best parts was an inspiring meeting, moseying along the lakefront trail on the journey back and honoring my pace.
