Prepare to be starstruck! ⭐
This week’s #HubbleFriday view unveils a starry scene called Terzan 4, which is a globular cluster – a collection of stars bound together by their mutual gravitational attraction.
These clusters can contain millions of individual stars! Hubble’s launch in 1990 revolutionized the study of globular clusters because the telescope orbits just above Earth’s atmosphere, which gives it a crystal-clear view free of atmospheric distortion, and allows astronomers to distinguish individual stars in these densely crowded regions.
