Hard to beat a good Mai Tai– and I don’t mean the kind you suck out of a plastic tube on a cruise ship. I mean the good ol’ fashioned Mai Tai from the 1940’s that is basically a dressed up, rum-based Margarita on pebble ice. It’s a banging cocktail, and the dead of winter is the perfect time to try one. 1944 M A I T A I — 1 oz Pot-still Rum 1 oz Aged Rum 1 oz Fresh lime juice 1⁄2 oz Dry Curacao or Triple Sec 1⁄2 oz Orgeat 1⁄4 oz Rich Cane Syrup (2:1) Fresh mint for garnish Combine ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into a rocks glass or tropical mug. Garnish with a large bouquet of mint. #highproofpreacher #cocktailrecipes #maitai #bartenderlife
