THE MOMENT out of the theater reaction The Moment is a exhausting, hollow flex that mistakes frantic editing and hyper-stylized visuals for actual substance. Charli plays a heightened version of herself bratty, indecisive, constantly whining about staying “authentic” while her team pushes commercial compromises – but it never lands as satire because it’s too busy circling the same tired dilemma: “What if I sold out after my big moment?” We get it in the first 15 minutes. The rest is just 100+ minutes of repeating it with strobe lights and cameos. The mockumentary format feels lazy here. Handheld shots, talking heads, awkward “behind-the-scenes” bits it all looks cool for about five seconds, then becomes repetitive and smug. Alexander Skarsgård as the “sinister director” is wasted; he shows up to be vaguely menacing and British, but his character goes nowhere. The rest of the cast (Kylie Jenner, Kate Berlant, etc.) feel like stunt bookings rather than contributors to anything meaningful. #themoment #charlixcx #a24 #moviereaction
