“Are we really interested in a story about a serial killer or are we more interested in a story about a serial killer’s society?” With the latter approach, director Ali Abbasi was able to form the narrative of his latest, HOLY SPIDER. His latest film is based on true events, set in Iran, following the tensions between a serial killer and a journalist seeking justice. After its #TIFF22 Canadian Premiere, HOLY SPIDER returns to TIFF Bell Lightbox starting November 18.
