Inna Modja is a singer, model, actress and climate activist from Mali. A life-long women’s and girls rights activist, @innamodjaofficiel has in recent years used her voice to raise awareness about the #ClimateCrisis. In the 2019 documentary about the Great Green Wall, Modja - who is also a @unccd land ambassador - took viewers on a journey to show how the reforestation project is helping to restore degraded land and create jobs in one of the regions most affected by the climate crisis. The way countries adapt to climate impacts will also be a major focus at #AfricaClimateWeek, a regional climate conference which gets underway in Libreville today. Ahead of the UN Climate Change conference #COP27 in November, governments are meeting with private sector, civil society and finance sector representatives to discuss how commitments under the #ParisAgreement can be turned into action.
