I can't wait to show off our garden transformation properly as soon as it's finished, but in the mean time, I realised I haven't shown off much of the rest of my home. We moved just over a year ago, the world was just coming out of lockdown, I was still breastfeeding on demand with Alf refusing to take a bottle. So home became where I stayed, and lots of you will remember I was experiencing a lot of Postnatal depression. I put a lot of focus and energy into creating a calm and peaceful home. It was a slow process with long delivery times, but sitting here today, no longer with Postnatal depression, I feel so much joy at the home we've created. It's very different from my pink and colourful flat (that was a new build and it represented a very different time in my life of parties and no responsibility). But I love it. We love it. I feel so happy. So anyway, I thought I'd share the room that seems to get the most questions. Our bedroom; my sanctuary. It's where I look forward to going the moment Alf is asleep. It makes me so happy and calm being in this room - waking up and opening the blinds and letting the light pour in. ✨ It's also where I coslept and nursed Alf to sleep for the first year of his life. Of the best purchases we made (unknowingly) was getting a bed with a big velvet and cushioned headboard. I bought it when Tommy first moved in at the beginning of lockdown because I was so used to having a double bed to myself, I struggled to share one with someone else! But it proved to be invaluable for those night time feeds and cuddles. I actually slept upright with Alf lying on my chest for months after he was born - it just felt right to have him next to me. Anyway, what else can I tell you about the room? I love the paint colour - I'm so happy we braved doing the ceiling too. We went with @littlegreenepaintcompany in Normandy Grey. We used chest of drawers either side of the bed to fill out the room, but also to give us that much needed storage space. And we used a carpenter to build the wardrobes - I'm so happy with how they turned out. 😊 Let me know if you'd like to know where anything else is from. 😊 #ashleysinteriors #bedroommakeover
