Sherry Pocknett is a Mashpee Wampanoag chef and owner of the restaurant Sly Fox Den Too in Charlestown, R.I., which specializes in East Coast Indigenous cuisine. Pocknett is a member of the tribe best known for feeding the Pilgrims. Her restaurant is her own way of using her people’s knowledge to feed Americans today. And she hopes the menu shows the breadth and depth of Indigenous foods, which are so much more than Thanksgiving turkey. Read about Indigenous cuisine in the U.S. and what Pocknett hopes visitors take away from her menu at the link in our bio. Photographs by Tony Luong (@_tonyluong) for TIME
