Have you ever seen steel look so delicate? Suspended in midair by a single thread, Rana Begum RA's ‘Mesh’ is formed of steel nets that allow light to flood through the seemingly weightless structure. @ranabegumstudio creates abstract work which blurs the boundaries between contemporary art and architecture. Drawing inspiration from the geometry found in traditional Islamic art and architecture, the artist often utilises the effect of light sources. Find this sculpture in the #RASummer Exhibition. And, as well as exhibiting works in the show, Begum has also curated this year's Architecture Room along with Niall McLaughlin RA. Rana Begum RA, 'No.1134 Mesh'. Powder coated galvanised mild steel 140 x 100 x 103 cm. Courtesy of the artist.
