Feeling so dang grateful tonight — for the birthday love, the kind messages, safe travels, and one divine dinner to close out the day. We wrapped the evening at @christners: perfectly-cooked steak, fresh crab, and the most decadent dessert I’ve had in a long time. Every bite felt like a celebration. Big thanks to @alicechristner for the warm welcome! She always makes fine dining feel like family. But before all that joy… Beckett and I got rear-ended. 😩 Almost home after a five-hour drive back from @southseasresort (had to make it home in time for Media Mashup tomorrow), a sweet young man, somewhere between the ages of my two bonus teens and still wearing his Pizza Hut apron, accidentally hit us. He felt awful. I had just picked up Beau from his doggy vacation, and honestly, it could’ve been so much worse. By the grace of God, and thanks to our Subaru, seatbelts, and car seat safety, everyone’s okay. No injuries, barely any damage, just a lot of adrenaline and perspective. Ended the night hugging my beautiful mommy @jenniferpatchellanderson — the real MVP of today. She did all the work bringing me into the world… and I’m the one who gets the cake? Beyond blessed. 💛
