THIS SUNDAY! 💫 happy to share that I have been working with my alderperson’s office( @mattmartinchi ) to revamp their arts council over the last few months after it fell off entirely during the COVID pandemic. it’s been a joy to get involved locally & to explore new ideas, connect with fellow artists & art lovers in the ward, & coordinate some exciting projects & events. This weekend is a cool culmination of the partnership between me, the arts council, & the alder’s office, as on Sunday from 12-4 there will be an arts & crafts festival in the @martyrslive parking lot on Lincoln Ave in the 47th ward. the festival will have vendors & workshops & for the first time ever in my life, I’m facilitating a paint-by-numbers community mural that features some of the places that make the 47th ward so special. i created the base of the mural today & included places like @oldtownschool @firstslice @davistheater @northcenter plaza featuring a mural by my art friend @suzannestewartart & @allsaints_chicago & more. come by 12-4 to paint a bit, participate in the hourly workshops, & buy some art from local artists & makers like me. 💕 #chicagoart #chicagoartist #chicagoartists #northcenter #northcenterchicago #communitymural #communityart #paintbynumbers #paintbynumber #paintbynumbersforadults #acrylicpainting #martyrschicago #chicagofemaleartist #chicagofemaleartist #artistsoninstagram #freechicago
