I wanted to share a bit about my personal connection to this meaningful capsule collection. Kobe Bryant and I both went to Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania (although not at the same time). I know firsthand what he means to the community where I grew up -- his legacy is immeasurable. I live in LA now so naturally I love the Lakers, but if I'm being honest it's my respect, connection and adoration for Kobe that made me a true fan. I first met Vanessa and their daughter Natalia at a trunk show in Florida many years ago. I didn’t recognize who they were in the moment but I was struck by Vanessa’s kindness and Natalia’s sweet demeanor. When Kobe and Gianna joined them I realized they were family and was even more impressed with how unassuming and down to earth they all were. Over the years, they have continued to support me and my business and have always been the same lovely people I met that first day. Vanessa and I connected over our shared love of jewelry and we've worked on several custom personal projects together in the past. We decided this year we wanted to do something that we could share with our audiences, and the idea for this project was born. One of the things I love most about fine jewelry is how deeply personal it can be. The fact that it is made from precious materials means it will stand the test of time and can be passed down for generations to come. It has been an honor to create this collection with Vanessa as a tribute to Kobe and Gianna’s legacy to benefit the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation and to make something everlasting for fans to wear forever in their memory.
