It’s surreal to see from where we laid down roots in late May until now. 🌱 The expansive lessons and gifts of the blessing to have hands in the earth and honor to be in relationship with plant beings. Beyond that is the reckoning with the truth of food apartheid, access and sovereignty. To know the system of plantation capitalism continues today in the painful and devastating exploitation of land and labor, an endless extraction. How do we feed, teach and share with each other ~ untangle and abolish what does not serve us, and nurture a criticality and collective solidarity to care, love and hold compassion. Isa @theartistactivistfarmer is having a workshop on the ancestral and decolonial importance of seed saving. Jess @blackvervain / @olaminabotanicals is teaching a plant medicine workshop on surrounding fermentation and preservation. Also, using produce from the farm she has crafted hot sauce and lemongrass ginger oxymel that will be available on the day. Auxilio @auxiliospace /a queer run community food resource center/ will be serving soup and cooking vegetables on a fire. 🌸🌸🌸
