It's much better when the sun is out. The struggle to get ANYTHING done when it's overcast is REAL.
We've been quiet over here, but the behind the scenes is we just did our first wedding since Covid-19 hit.
Yesterday's glowing bride planned a large wedding to take place at the @thecliftonva , but under the circumstances, she and her groom went with an elopement plan instead of the 200 guest count wedding that they had originally in mind. A beautiful harp and harpist arrived on the scene. The musician wheeled her harp down to the ceremony sight where the photographer and videographer assumed their position.
The bride and I looked on where I prepared her for the ceremony. We were the only ones in the room. There were no friends, no family attending her wedding, which made me feel a deep sense of humility & gratitude. What an honor it was to stand with her, to dress her hair & apply her make-up while wearing an N-95 mask. To WITNESS her moment. She still had her joy. She still had her groom and she never compromised.
I am looking forward to the day when we can take our masks off (litterally and figuratively) and celebrations can comence and be unencumbered, with all the freedoms to get as sloppy, flamboyant, and exciting as they usually do.
Cheers to the happy couple! π₯πΎπβ¨
