Coming to you in one month is a project that’s been in the works for more or less five years and one very dear to my family. Jean-Michel Basquiat: King Pleasure @basquiatkingpleasure Executive produced and co-curated by my mother Jeanine and my aunt Lisane, his two younger sisters, this is the first Basquiat exhibition to ever come from the vantage point of the family itself, and will showcase more than 200 never before or rarely seen works all kept within the Basquiat family collection since Jean-Michel’s death in 1988. Paintings, drawings, multimedia presentations, ephemera, and artifacts will finally be on display, as well as recreations of Jean’s studio, their childhood home and so much more (including an exciting series of interviews directed and produced my me 🚀) Tickets are on sale now.
