Because, why not...
I had to go to the country music hall of fame today with @mattreevesmusic and @thejohnnyisaacs to see their new “Western Edge” exhibit! There’s too many pictures to post, so I picked a couple things that I thought were really cool.
1. Marty Robbins’ Nudie Suit. Marty had such a unique style during the era of this suit and in my opinion, it puts a stamp on a special time in music history.
2. Chris Hillman’s Manuel bolero jacket that he wore with the Desert Rose Band.
3. Bernie Leadon’s Evan’s B bender telecaster that was used on all the early Eagles hits! I believe it was refinished by Red Rhodes.
4. A view from the back of Bernie Leadon’s telecaster.
5. Gram Parson’s Nudie suit from The Gilded Palace of Sin album cover.
6. Chris Hillman’s Nudie suit from The Gilded Palace of Sin album cover.
7. Emmylou Harris’ 1955 Gibson J200. If you’re an Emmylou fan, you know about this guitar. She had the rose inlaid by Danny Ferrington.
8. Emmylou Harris’ Martin that she acquired from Gram Parsons.
9. This one is pretty amazing! Ricky Nelson’s Les Paul black beauty Gibson and the song lyrics from Garden Party!
10. Dwight Yoakum’s outfit from the Honky Tonk Man music video. Although, I play a Dwight Yoakum model Gibson, I’ve never really gotten into his music, but you have to appreciate how great his style was.
With this bit of useless information, if you ever get the chance, just go.
