As we visited the baptismal spot of Lydia, Dr. Blevins jokingly let us know that he would baptize anyone who wanted to be baptized in that same water. I decided to bypass the joke part and told him “I’ll do it” with no hesitation or break of eye contact. I took off my socks, shoes, and jewelry, and hopped in the frigid water in my overalls. I’ve waited a long time to get baptized, and always had the underlying feeling that it may not take place in a church. The Lord definitely booted out any fears and anxieties of mine today as I boldly got in that water, and proclaimed Jesus as my Lord and Savior loud and proud.
